The shortlisted artists were reviewed by the selection panel of three arts community members who unanimously chose
Ellen Ferrier’s ELEVATE sculpture, which draws on actual geographical profiles of the mountain.
The callout for EOIs was made in July 2018 and received 19 submissions from artists of the Northern Rivers.
This will be the second major work commissioned in the development of the Mullum Sculpture Walk. This project has been instigated by Mullum Chamber of Commerce who are providing at least half of the $30000 funding.
The sculpture will be recommended by the Council’s Public Art Panel to be approved by Councillors at the February 28 meeting. Pending this final approval fabrication by Metal & Wood Mullumbimby will commence and installation expected by mid year 2019.
